Puppetry - Desert Daydreamer

A project from my second year at Royal Welsh where I led a team of first year students in making puppets for a full-length, site specific puppetry show. Titled Desert Daydreamer, the Central and South American inspired original script featured a multitude of interesting creatures and outlandish characters. My personal contributions to the production were making the Golden Mole hand puppet, silk painting and building the flying parrot rod puppet, building and costuming the Grandmother puppet, as well as helping to design the character of the Grandmother.

The previous year, for a different puppetry show, I designed and built small handheld puppet rats, and a larger "Granny" rat that walked via rods attached to the puppeteer's feet.
